Natural Allergy Relief

Tips to Combat Allergies

  • Chew honeycomb honey to help dry up a runny nose and unblock congested sinuses.

  • Cleanse the sinuses with warm salt water. Prepare a solution using 1/2 tsp. salt (preferably sea salt) mixed with 8 ounces of filtered warm water. Bend over the sink and slowly inhale through the nose, drawing the saltwater solution into the sinuses. Plug your nose with your fingers to allow the solution to soak inside the sinuses. Breathe through the mouth and hold water in your sinuses for approximately 20 seconds. Expel the solution along with any mucus and debris. Continue this process until your sinuses are clear.

Testing for Allergies

  • Tape or tie a small amount of food, dust or whatever you think may be causing your allergies to your skin. Leave on for 24 hours. If a red spot or rash appears, you are probably allergic to that substance.

Allergy Triggers

An allergic reaction is the over response of the immune system can be triggered by tension, emotion, undigested protein particles, by low thyroid output, stress or calcium/magnesium deficiencies. To help subdue these symptoms, take vitamin C to suppress the release of histamines.

You can do this by taking 2 grams/day of ascorbic acid, then adding 1 gram extra each day until you are taking 12 grams/day. Use 2 grams of less for children under 5 years. If digestive problems occur, use a buffered form of vitamin C. The easiest way to take vitamin C is in powdered form - 1 tsp (4 grams) in a small glass of fruit juice, taken 3 times/day.
